Modelling and Reliability Analysis of Campus Network at the BUT
Kraus, Zdeněk ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (referee) ; Veselý, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis informs about technologies and architecture of computer network at BUT.  It describes chosen technologies and some of theirs variants.  Further, it contains simulation model design of a network switch device.  That is followed by the model implementation with detailed description of model parts. Then, the model is tested on a set of simulation scenarios and it is evaluated in comparison with theoretical basis and real devices.  In conclusion, thesis suggests future model development and improvements.
Design of reliable enterprise networks with service quality support
Kiška, Martin ; Koutný, Martin (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
This work deals with creating a reliable corporate network and its variety capabilities against loops and supporting QoS on link and network layer. On the basis of theoretical knowledge is designed an experimental network in the laboratory of Institute of Telecommunications composed of several computers, VoIP pohones, switches and routers. Functinonal network is then tested to failure of individual nodes and the impact on network traffic. In another part of this bachelor thesis this network is tested using different QoS support options.
Modeling and Simulation of Spanning-Tree Protocol
Poláčeková, Simona ; Marek, Marcel (referee) ; Veselý, Vladimír (advisor)
This term project deals with the functionality of Spanning Tree protocols, especially the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, and the Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol. The primary usage of spanning tree protocols is the prevention of loops within the data link layer, the prevention of a broadcast storm, and also dealing with redundancy in the network. Moreover, the project contains the description of configuration of these protocols on Cisco devices. The main goal of this thesis is to implement the Multiple Spanning Tree protocol into INET framework within the OMNeT++ simulation system. Then, the implemented solution is tested and it's functionality is compared with the referential behavior in a Cisco network.
Modelling of L2 Loop-Preventing Protocols
Hrnčiřík, Matej ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Veselý, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis informs about currently used technologies, which provide loop protection on data link layer of computer networks. It clarifies issues of Ethernet networks. Chosen protocols are then closely described. There are presented advantages and disadvantages of chosen protocols and they are compared to other technologies. Practical section describes the initial implementation of IS-IS in OMNeT++ environment, which serves as the basic building block of TRILL protocol. An important issue is to verify correctness of implementation.
Concept of Wireless Network for SOŠ Podyjí
Truhlář, Petr ; Šareš, Pavel (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
For my paper I have chosen project of a wireless network, which will be actually applied at SOS Podyji. In my paper I will deal with selection of a suitable concept of the wireless network and the functional use of the concept. In a theoretical part of my paper I will engage in wireless networks in general and in security of wireless networks. In a practical part of my paper I will select the most convenient solution, combining the chosen concept, security features and networking devices. I will select the networking devices with regard to their price.
Design of reliable VLAN-based enterprise data nework
Vrablic, Pavol ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The main aim of this work is to identify the potential issues within a robust network to provide a highly reliable and fault free service – with a smooth and reliable functionality of critical services. This work contains new methods of branch networking and virtualization that is increasingly used in enterprise networks. It is important to note that computer clustering provides the functionality of critical services that can surpass potential partial failures and network QoS; which overall, achieves a high quality and reliable service.
Application of virtual local area networks for effective and flexible data network design
Brázda, Libor ; Burda, Karel (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
This thesis is aimed to the problems of virtual local networks. In the first chapters are explained both basic and advanced methods of designing and management of virtual LAN networks. The following chapters are dedicated to the methods of effective management VLAN networks and to the protocol Spanning Tree, preventing formation of loops in redundant networks, and their exploitation in VLANs. The practical part describes the application of the implementation of the technology of virtual local networks in experimental network, containing various types of devices. Based on this theory, a laboratory assignment has been designed for the training of the students in solving such problems. The scope of the laboratory assignment is divided into simpler partial tasks, which even a less advanced student should be able to configure and test.
New trends in data network design
Hlavatý, Jindřich ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
are used. In the theoretical part I analyse some basic network protocols and their gradual development, VLANs and Spanning Tree Protocol, MPLS protocol and other. There are described parameters for the design of new networks and the models networks and their various are used, the network with a new architecture and a software-defined network (SDN),too. The practical part deals with designed laboratory exercises for teaching students. The laboratory experiments are always divided into several tasks. They are formed even students ignorant or less familiar with the issue could configure and test it.

Design of labs for Cisco academy courses
Oujezský, Václav ; Růčka, Lukáš (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
This master's work deals with the design of laboratory exercises for Cisco Academy courses. Especially is oriented on Cisco technology. The theoretical part describes various devices used in the laboratory and the issue of functionality of these devices, such as switching, routing and solve any problems with the configurations of these elements. The practical part is directly generated designs laboratory exercises, focusing on specific examples of the problems from the configuration and network management with Cisco. An integral part of work consists of supporting the presentation of individual laboratory tasks, including configuration files, settings of the device. Create labs and verify the functionality of their configuration has been realized in the laboratory Cisco Academy Brno.
